Drive

See location link below.

If you drive to Bad Gastein, the route is simple once you have left the airport and joined the motorway South (signed Villach).

As you drive into Bad Gastein the road rises sharply uphill. You will drive up to a junction in the town called the 'Mozart Platz', the tourist info is a large pink building in front of you. Also, you will see directly in front of you a large directions board displaying the names of all the local hotels. At this point you are three minutes from your destination and have a choice of two short routes.

1- You may remain on the main road and go uphill into the upper town. This is signed 'BOCKSTEIN'. Follow the main road past the shops and take the second left hand turn directly after the 'Eurospa'. This short link road will end in a T-section and is signed 'Graukogel and skilift'. Go left and follow the signs to the 'Graukogel skilift', keeping right, across a bridge and on for about 500 meters. The hotel is directly opposite the skilift.

2-Alternatively, at the big sign in the Mozart Platz you can turn left off the main road taking a narrow road beside the Tourist Info. office. This will take you between several large hotels, past the Eden Pub and out by the top level of the 'Arco' car park. At the juction turn left over the bridge and follow signs for 'Graukogel skilift as before.

DO NOT go sharp left at the Mozart Platz or you will be lost!!

From Salzburg airport the distance is approximately 95kms., less than 1.5hrs. journey time.
